As a Cyprus-born, Berlin-based photographer, I experiment with the camera as both a documentary and manipulative tool, using photography’s fundamental elements to reveal the medium’s intrinsic qualities. Through the orchestration of texture and light in each digital composition, I aim not to represent external reality, but to explore the inherent pictorial possibilities of the digital photographic process itself. By allowing light to shape each image, I seek to highlight photography’s unique capacity for self-reflection and expression.
Each photograph is developed through a process of sampling and selection, resulting in series that serves as aesthetic objects in their own right. Alongside these experimental works.
Meanwhile a desire for political and societal awereness, I started to document the visible and invisible consequences of ideological manipulation on societies.
This dual approach-merging opposing practices eventually, I question what is seen and what is understood from the received information. By challenging the boundaries of perception, I try to look beyond the surface and consider what lies further what the naked eye perceives.
